Now
regional weather discussion... Early this morning...the weather pattern had begun to change...as cold high pressure moved farther east...and a Pacific trough approached from the west. The result was an increase of southerly winds at low levels...drawing up moisture from the Texas Gulf Coast. At 4 am...the leading edge of cloud cover stretched from Archer City Texas to Waurika and Ada Oklahoma. These clouds will slowly expand northward through sunrise...and eventually overtake much of central and north central Oklahoma. When the increasing moisture interacts with cold air near the ground...patchy fog may form...especially along the western edge of the returning moisture. The greatest potential for fog is generally from western North Texas through western and central Oklahoma between 6 and 10 am. As the cloud cover arrives...temperatures will warm several degrees...reaching the lower to middle 40s. It will still feel chilly through midday...however...as wind speeds will increase...and the clouds will be slow to diminish from west to east.
